AGRA IN THE MIDST OF WINTER
We usually don't have breakfast this early in
Delhi, but we decided to make an exception in Agra. Why? Because there was so
much to explore, so many sights to see, and countless experiences waiting for
us in this vibrant new city. The Agra Cantt. railway station is a bustling hub,
filled with auto drivers and taxi drivers vying for attention all around you.
For us, they represent a gateway to understanding a new place and meeting
interesting people, but to them, we might just be another fare—a source of income.
It’s funny how our definitions shift based on the person in front of us: to my
mom, I’m her daughter; to my brother, I’m his sister; to my teachers, I’m just
another student; and to all those taxi drivers, I’m simply a customer.
Anyway, we grabbed breakfast at the railway
station, which was pretty bland, but the chai? Oh man, that made it special!
There’s something about that first sip of chai in a new city that just hits
differently. Before long, we hopped into an auto rickshaw, and after a bit of searching,
we found an affordable hotel to crash at. Once we freshened up, we were all set
to dive into the adventure that is Agra!
