EVENING WALKS
Cozy winter evenings in New Delhi are a vibe. It's not December yet, so people are still out strolling in their t-shirts. But for me, hoodie season has officially arrived! I make it a point to go for evening walks whenever I'm at home now. Living in Delhi, where apartments are close together, the toxic air can be overwhelming at times. That's why taking a walk feels like a breath of fresh air.
I like to switch up my route every day, but my favorite path is from my school to the church park near my home. With my hands in my hoodie pockets and Bollywood romcom songs from the 2000s blasting in my ears, life feels simple and carefree. I know it's all just daydreaming, but it's a nice escape.
Evening walks were much easier in the summer. I could cover long distances, explore new paths, meet new people, and capture stunning sunset photos. But in the winter, especially for women in Delhi, it's a bit more challenging. The sun sets early, making it tough to step outside after a long study session. That's the one thing I dislike about winter, even though it's my favorite season in this polluted city.
Despite the cold, winter in Delhi has its charm. It brings warmth through events, chai, and sunny afternoons in public parks.
As my walk comes to an end, so does my attempt to capture my emotions in this online diary. Until next time!
